Q. How do
I customize my Flash animation?
A. You supply a JPEG file containing
your own graphics or text which is incorporated into the Flash Animation |
Q. How
does it work?
A. When the Flash animation plays in
your visitor's browser, it dynamically loads your JPEG file into the Flash
movie |
Q. Can I
change the animation again in the future?
A. YES - whenever you want to
change it, just replace the JPEG file with a different one |
Q. Do I have
to wait the Flash Animation to be sent to me?
A. NO - It is available in a Zip
file for immediate download |
Q. Are they
free?
A. Some of them are available as
freebies. The Custom-Pro range are available for a small charge.
Remember - you pay once, but you can change the animation whenever you want
by replacing your JPEG file |
Q. How do I
put the Flash animation on my web page?
A. 1. You cut and paste the supplied
HTML code into your web page.
2. You upload the web page, the .swf file (the Flash movie) and the .jpg
file to the same directory on your web server. - That's it!
Full instructions are provided in the readme.txt file in the Zip file |
Q. What
graphics software can I use to make a JPEG file?
A. We recommend Paint Shop Pro (Free
trial from www.jasc.com) or IrfanView
(Freeware from www.irfanview.com).
There are lots more suitable graphics programs available.
Or use the free online Logo Generator at
www.coolarchive.com/logogen.cfm |
Q. Can I use
a GIF file instead of a JPEG file?
A. You just need to convert the GIF file
into a JPEG file first. You can use graphics software like Paint Shop Pro or
IrfanView to do it. Load the GIF file and then Save As a JPEG file. |
Q. Can I use
any JPEG file?
A. You need to make sure the JPEG file
is the right size for the animation (detailed in the supplied instructions).
When you save your JPEG file, make sure to save it using Standard Encoding,
not Progressive Encoding (Standard Encoding is usually the default).
You will need to rename your JPEG file to the name provided in the
instructions. |
Q. What if I
just want to customize the animation with my own text message?
A. Easy - Just use the Text tool in your
graphics software to put the text into a JPEG image. |
Q. Can I
change the background color of the Flash animation?
A. If you understand how to specify
colors in HTML, then yes you can - Just edit the hexadecimal color code in
the background parameter in the supplied HTML code. e.g. <param name="bgcolor"
value="#0000FF"> for Blue. Note that in some animations the background
color does not show through your JPEG image, so your JPEG image supplies the
background color. |
Q. Do the
Flash animations show a Flashiness.com message and link?
A. The Freebies do, but the Custom-Pro
range do not. |
Q. Can I
change the size of the Flash animation?
A. Yes you can edit the HTML to specify
the size in either pixels or percentage. But be careful, your JPEG
image may not look good when it is resized. Also, changing the size
can sometimes have unpredictable results, so don't do it without testing the
result very carefully. |
Q. What is SWF?
A. The .swf file is the compiled Flash
movie. Historically SWF stands for ShockWave Flash. |
Q. Do I get the
source files?
A. No, we do not supply the source files. |
Q. Who owns the
copyright?
A. Flashiness.com owns and retains the
copyright to the supplied SWF file and also to the source files. If you
have made your own JPEG file then you will own the copyright to that. You are
free to use the .SWF files on your own web pages or on your own computer.
You are not allowed to pass on the files to anyone else. |
Q. Why hasn't
anyone else though of customizing Flash animations like this?
A. Sorry - can't answer that one!. |
